2-Night, 3-Day Horseback Riding Tour in Mongolia | Steppe Stay with Lessons from the Basics

2-Night, 3-Day Horseback Riding Experience on the Mongolian Steppe

From Beginner Basics to Trying Trot and Canter

Learn, ride, and venture farther. Spend three unforgettable days on the Mongolian steppe, building your riding skills and deepening your connection with horses.

Go Beyond the Basics with 3 Days of Horseback Riding on the Mongolian Steppe

Horse Camp Mongolia’s 2-night, 3-day horseback riding experience is a small-group program designed to help even complete beginners gradually develop their riding skills while discovering more of Mongolia’s vast and beautiful steppe.

On Day 1, you’ll learn how to interact with horses and practice the basics, including mounting, stopping, moving forward, and turning. Once you’ve gained confidence, you’ll head out for your first ride across the steppe.

On Day 2, you’ll review the skills you learned the previous day and ride farther from camp. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the open grasslands while continuing to develop your riding ability. You’ll practice trotting according to your skill level. If conditions are safe, taking into account your ability, the horse’s condition, the weather, and the terrain, you may also have the opportunity to try cantering.

On Day 3, put your skills into practice on a horseback ride of approximately 15 km round trip, lasting around 3 hours. As you spend more time with your horse, you’ll develop a better feel for controlling your horse independently and riding farther across the open steppe.

Go from simply trying horseback riding to confidently guiding your horse across the grasslands. Over three days, build your skills step by step at a comfortable pace.

With three full days, you can take your time and gradually build your riding skills at your own pace.
Enjoy plenty of time on the Mongolian steppe, sharing unforgettable moments with your horse.

Regarding Trotting and Cantering

Riding equipment such as helmets, protectors, and chaps are provided. Riding on the steppe is basically done at a walk. Trotting and other gaits will only be conducted if the instructor verifies the participant’s skill level, horse condition, weather, steppe conditions, etc., and determines that there are no safety issues.
