2-Day, 1-Night Horse Riding Experience on the Mongolian Steppes
Take Your Riding Skills to the Next Level
Learn on Day 1. Ride Farther on Day 2.

Take Your Grassland Riding Experience to the Next Level Over Two Days
H&A Horse Camp’s 2-Day, 1-Night Horse Riding Experience is a small-group program designed for beginners. Learn the basics step by step and enjoy horseback riding across the Mongolian steppes over two days.
On Day 1, learn how to approach and handle a horse, mount and dismount, stop, move forward, and change direction before heading out onto the grasslands. Visit a nomadic family, then enjoy dinner under the open sky and a star-filled night on the steppes.
On Day 2, review the basic riding skills you learned the previous day before setting out on an approximately 15 km round-trip ride across the grasslands, lasting around three hours. Practice trotting and, if conditions are suitable based on each participant’s skill level, the horse’s condition, and the weather, you may also have the opportunity to try a canter.
Go beyond simply sitting on a horse to learning how to guide it yourself across the open steppes. Take your riding skills to the next level, one step at a time, over two days.

Practice the basics on Day 1, then enjoy a longer horseback ride across the grasslands on Day 2.
Staying overnight lets you experience the beauty of the steppes at sunset and in the early morning.

Itinerary – 2-Day Flow –
We pick you up at your hotel and drive to H&A Horse Camp. The journey takes about 2 hours from Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy the Mongolian scenery from the car window as you head to the grassland.
Arrived at the campsite. But we won’t get on the horses right away. First, we start with the basics for enjoying horseback riding safely.
You will learn about horse characteristics, how to interact with them, and safety precautions. After that, you will get used to the horses step-by-step while actually touching and spending time with them.
While leading the horse yourself, you will practice how to keep your distance and handle it. Not only “riding a horse,” but “interacting with a horse” is also an important lesson.
You will repeatedly practice how to mount, stop, move forward, and turn right and left around the camp.
Lunch featuring traditional Mongolian dishes such as buuz and khushuur. We will take a break to prepare for the afternoon grassland horseback riding.
Using the basic controls practiced in the morning, we depart for the grassland with the instructor. Aiming for a nomad’s family, we will head out taking about an hour, mainly at a slow walk.
Visiting a nomad’s family, receiving hospitality like tea, and experiencing Mongolian daily life and nomadic culture.
Riding back to the camp on horseback. The basic pace is a walk, but depending on the instructor’s assessment of the participants’ proficiency level, the horses’ condition, and the weather, you may also try a trot※ if there are no safety issues.

About Trot and Canter
Trotting and cantering are not guaranteed for all participants. The instructor will comprehensively assess the participants’ skill level, physical condition, the horses’ condition, the weather, the state of the grassland, and other factors, and will only proceed if it is judged safe to do so. Safety is the top priority, and the ride may consist only of trotting or walking.

② About Safety
At Horse Camp Mongolia, we provide instruction on how to interact with horses and basic riding skills before heading out to the grassland. Helmets, protectors, chaps, and other riding equipment are provided.
Horseback riding on the grassland is basically done at a walk. Trotting and other gaits are only conducted when the instructor confirms the participants’ skill level, the horses’ condition, the weather, the state of the grassland, and other factors, and judges that it is safe to do so.
